Lefkas has the third bigger size among the seven island of the Ionian Sea and it is at the center of it. A swing-bridge of 20 meters long joins Lefkas with the mainland of Greece.


The canal that separates Lefkas from the mainland was excavated by the Corinthians at 20 B.C. The Corinthians were the first inhabitants of the island. Stavrotas is the tallest mountain and it stands in the middle of the island.

Lefkas is a green-clad island full of olives, cypress and pines.

The west coast has a unique wild beauty. Green hillsides leading to the famous beaches of Ag. Nikitas, Kathisma, Ekremni and Porto Katsiki with the green-blue waters.

On the way to Tsoukalades village witch is before Ag. Nikitas, is the old Monastery of Faneromeni. From its yard one can be amazed by the view of Lefkas town and the beaches of Ag. Ioannis and Gyra.

Basiliki is a town by the sea on the southern island that is a meeting point for all serf lovers.

Nidri is the second most known town of Lefkas. It’s by the sea and it has very good night life. Daily cruises depart from its port for Kefalonia, Ithaca and to the beaches and small islands nearby.


At the central mountainous Lefkas is the traditional head village of Karya. One can peacefully enjoy some coffee or tea and taste local grilled meat.

Villa katia is on the west side of Lefkas 500 meters outside Tsoukalades village.  It faces west across terraces of olive and cypress to the sea, and to Antipaxos and the mountains of the mainland beyond. The road that passes outside Villa katia leads to the central Lefkas. Kavalos village is 10-12 minutes drive from the Villa and Karya head village is 10 minutes far from Kavalos. The same road leads to the southern Lefkas and to the famous beach of Porto Katsiki.
